【いみ】

①Completion of an Action: When you want to emphasize that an action has been completed entirely, sometimes with a sense of finality.

②Regret or Unintended Outcome: When an action was completed, but it led to an unintended or regrettable result.

①Completion of an Action

もうかぎをかけてしまった。
I’ve already locked the door.

ふとんを押し入れおしいれに片付かたづけてしまった。
I’ve already put the futon away in the closet.

もうテーブルを動うごかしてしまった。
I’ve already moved the table.

もうゴミを出だしてしまった。
I’ve already taken out the trash.

漢字は全部復習ふくしゅうしてしまった。
I have reviewed all the Kanji characters.

書類しょるいにハンコを押おしてしまった。
I’ve stamped all the documents.

明日は友だちに会うから、今日中に宿題を終おわらせてしまう。
I will finish my homework by the end of the day because I’m meeting a friend tomorrow.



②Regret or Unintended Outcome

今日は大事だいじな会議があるのに、寝坊寝坊してしまった。
I had an important meeting today, but I overslept and slept in.

彼女の名前を忘わすれてしまった。
I forgot her name.

学生の時は、両親にたくさん心配しんぱいをかけてしまった。
When I was a student, I worried my parents a lot.

テストで、かんたんな問題を間違まちがえてしまった。
I got a simple question wrong on a test.

今日初めて会社にちこくしてしまった。
Today, I was late for work for the first time.

大事だいじな書類しょるいをまちがえて捨すててしまった。
I mistakenly threw away an important document.

木の枝えだを折おってしまった。
I broke a tree branch.

車が故障こしょうしてしまった。
My car broke down.

おととい、彼とけんかしてしまった。
I had a quarrel with my boyfriend the day before yesterday.
