JLPT N4 Grammar #21: 〜そうです② (something is about to happen)

【いみ】

It’s used when you want to say “something is about to happen.”

【ぶんぽう】

V（ます形）ます + そうです

火が消きえそう。
Looks like, the fire is about to go out.

電車はもうすぐ出発しゅっぱつしそう。
Looks like, the train will be leaving soon.

雨はもうすぐやみそう。
Looks like, the rain will stop soon.

風が強くて、木の枝えだが折おれそう。
The wind is so strong that it is likely to break branches and limbs of trees.

車が故障こしょうしそう。変な音が聞こえる。
Looks like, the car is going to break down. I hear strange noises.

財布さいふが落おちそうですよ。気をつけてください。z
Your wallet is about to fall off. Please be careful.

ひっぱらないで。服がやぶれそう。
Don’t pull it. My clothes are going to get torn.

赤ちゃんが泣なきそう。
A baby is about to cry.

木が倒たおれそうだから、近づかないでください。
A tree is about to fall down, please stay away from it.

ガソリンがなくなりそうだから、ガソリンスタンドに寄よりましょう。
We are going to run out of gasoline, so let’s stop at a gas station.
